Protel 7000 Commercial Payphone
The Protel 7000 is a complete commercial payphone combining durability, reliability, and classic design. Available in multiple configurations, it offers options for businesses, collectors, and high-traffic commercial environments.
Available Configurations:
- Standard: Refurbished black and chrome unit.
- New: Black and chrome with all-new housing and components, paired with a refurbished circuit board.
- Armored: Refurbished housing with a stainless steel armored cover for maximum protection.
Installation & Mounting:
Mounting backplates, pedestals, and enclosures are available for all installation types. All units connect easily to standard telephone lines and require no external electricity.
Ownership & Maintenance:
- You retain full ownership of the equipment and all revenue collected.
- Simple installation and minimal maintenance; periodic coin collection and inspection of coin flow is all that’s required.
- Supported by our U.S.-based technicians via toll-free line for setup or operational assistance.

I have the Ooma Telo VoIP device. I know I can use a standard POTS phone when plugged into its RJ-11 jack. I presume the pay phone could also be plugged into the RJ-11 jack and it would work?
Jun 26, 2024, 11:51 AMYes, it should work but VOIP working with older technology can bring its own issues since this phone was made to run on standard POTS lines.

How long will this be able to be used with a landline? I’ve heard they are phasing out landlines, if that happens will I still be able to operate this phone?
May 29, 2024, 10:13 AMYes, The FCC has been sunsetting POTS lines since 2019. The more common VOIP is compatible with the phone with an analog to digital adapter (usually provided by the telco.) We currently use ATT VOIP lines in our facility and test the phones with no issues. We can not guarantee that all phone functions will work with all VOIP providers since it is old technology mixed with new technology
